Looking for a good shop in Southeastern MA
I'm in need of a new shop to bring my 06' E91 in for new brakes, rotors, calipers, and switch up my wheels and tires. I have everything I need except maybe a few little things if they need replacing too. That's the main problem. Most shops around me won't do the work with my parts, they all want to buy their own parts (to rip me off more I'm sure) and on top of that they aren't good shops. I've been ripped off even getting my oil changes (once they didn't even replace or put any new oil in and still charged me for it) so yeah just looking for a reliable shop that does good work on BMWs without them licking their chops trying to figure out how to up charge me for everything I need. I'm in Plymouth county if that helps. Right before Cape Cod

https://www.wilemotorsport.com/ is the only shop I know of down your way that has a good reputation.
The shops are not trying to rip you off per se. They make a mark up on the parts. So even if you paid the same for the parts they might get to make another 15-20% on them. By doing the job for you they are immediately making less money than another customer. If you are a busy shop, why do it? Also, customers routinely buy the wrong parts. You get in there to say change the rotors. You take all 4 off only to find out they bought the rotors for the e92 not the e90. Now you have to put everything back together and charge them for the labor. Or it sits and occupies a lift while you wait for the right parts to show up that you the shop sources because you can't trust the customer not to fuck it up a second time. Basically, if you are buying your own parts, expect to install them yourself. There is a reason most shops do not want to take on jobs with customer supplied parts, which you are now finding out. IF you want to supply your own parts, find a shop 1st that is willing to take on the job. Just my experience over the years.

I've had great interactions with South Shore Autoworks, but I assume they are picky with parts on standard repairs / builds.
I only had mount / balance / alignment w/ specific specs planned to be done, but my starter failed around the corner. I only have amazing things to say about the alignment work and the care for my wheels. They took care of the starter and ordered the parts. Not sure how they would feel about bringing OE parts, but I can't imagine they are against anything performance / aftermarket as they work on race builds. |

We race against Wile and they are stand up shop but they are not South Shore by any means, Walpole is sorta a hike. 44, to 495 and then up rt 1, Used to head that way back in stone-age when I used Shine Race when I did VW's.
Me, I'd diy that job minus the tire swap as I don't have a mounting and balance machine. |
