sorry, i am not from the u.s. and i dont know what this premium package includes.

however, you can check out these additional alternatives to hook up your ipod. all of them should provide much more comfort then a simple aux cable since navigating through songs/playlists and handling in general becomes much easier (combined with less danger ):

(1) check our this thread:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14178
there you can get more info about bmw's retrofit ipod interface. it's non-idrive only but there are some additional restrictions which can be found here in the pdf of post no. 4 of mentioned thread (e.g. you will have to have the multifunctional steering wheel).

(2) waite for bmw's new ipod integration which should be available for non-idrive users, too. (listen to the words in the video of www.ipodyourbmw.com -> new ipod interface coming soon -> watch video)

(3) get a tomtom t710 or t910. connect the tomtom through aux with your bmw and connect your ipod with the tomtom. use the tomtom and its remote to handle the ipod. the tomtom will also be a good navigation unit and further it will connect with your phone (bluetooth).

Does anyone know if these will be available in the UK at launch in July? Check the press release (linked from above):
