Chicago Motorwerks and Patrick BMW
Just wanted to let everyone know how much i disliked my first car buying experience. I decided on a 330i before going to the local dealer, Motorwerks in Barrington , IL. I visited a few times and with the same salesman and seemed to be going alright, just checking out my options and pricing. After actually going in there to purchase the car that day and waiting an hour to see that one salesman who was busy with another customer, he lied to me about how soon the car would get here ( 1 month) , he reduced the discount i was gonna get on the car 2k to 1k and also started talking to another customer in the middle of the conversation about purchasing the car. So i just left and went to Patrick BMW in schaumburg, il. I was really pleased with the salesman i got, right away told me he would give me 1500 off the sticker and was straight about me with the ordering time table and talked me through the different packages and helped me decide on what to order. I was so happy with just the way i was treated there i added on a few more options, he might have talked me into it but i dont care i was happy with the service. And in a few days ill be picking up my new baby and cant wait, just nice to have a friendly honest salesman

I've been very satisfied with Knauz.
It's a drive for me, but they're - IMHO - pretty darned good, sales and service. Before someone was kind to me and pointed me in the direction of Knauz for my 2000 E46, I had poor experiences with both Patrick and Motorwerks. I went to Motorwerks again when I heard the E90s were out, same indifferent reception. Not that I was going to buy my 2006 there, but they didn't know that. So, off to Knauz (again). So far, so good - not much of a discount, but I don't have the car just yet so I may have room to wiggle there. |

I had the exact opposite experience from Patrick BMW and Motorwerks. The sales guy at Patrick was such a jerk, I went to Motorwerks instead. I was able to get good trade-in value for my Infiniti FX and I got $2,000 off of MSRP (back in July). I guess it depends more on which sales person you work with, than which dealership you go to.

I bought mine from Knauz Motors as well. Decent price 40,500 for metallic paint, sport + premium and heated seats.
Very nice sales person. I dealt with Alex..he had a very heavy russian accent...cool guy though. |

Elmhurst BMW is really good. They have so many 3 series on their lot. I have only heard horror stories about Patrick and Laurel/westmont. I havent heard bad things about Knauz either. Motorwerks, an aquaintances B/F works their and he seems like a really nice guy, have talked to him a few times. Luxury Motors has lemons on their lot, so be very very careful when purchasing from them.
That is my chicago experience thus far. |
