Mahle piston ring gaps too big?
I ordered these Mahle piston ring kits for my N52, and according to BMW specs it should be between 0.15-0.30 mm. I checked an old ring and it is indeed within that, but all my new Mahle rings are out of spec, they are between 0.038-0.045mm. Could it still be alright and for some reason Mahle decided to make it bigger or are these rings no good and I should maybe look for genuine BMW rings? It seems to me that the second and top compression ring were made to the spec, where as by BMW's specs the second ring should have a larger gap, between 0.30-0.50mm.
