Back in March I picked up a MY2021 G05 x40i in Arctic Grey and XLine trim. The only thing I regret about this decision is the black plastic on the edge of the fenders.

Last weekend I decided to perform a cleanse and wax. I started with a good wash and then moved to Xymol's HD Cleanse. I had never used this particular product before. It was real easy to use and worked really well. However, I was left with some discolouration on that black plastic trim.

I am looking for any tips and tricks you all have used to remove leftovers like this from plastic.

Please share what you have that works.

Ive read that stuff dries fast and leaves a cement like residue. Maybe fill a spray bottle with distilled water and spray it, soak and take a clean cloth and see if it comes off.

Crazy as this may sound. Try peanut butter. It will remove wax residue so it may remove this as well.

The black ABS plastic that is on every modern day car is a pain to keep looking fresh.

If you forget to tape off the plastic before waxing/coating or just over time it fades...

I can't really see the photo well enough to see what is going on - if it's a white residue or not, but I've used Meguiar's Hyper Dressing on the black ABS plastic to re-fresh those plastics - might want to give that a try.

I have seen from Obsessed Garage, that Matt used Meguiar's M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner.
