I know when my dealer wanted to install my US license plate (which they didn't per my request) they had a template ready to go. Maybe your dealer has a Euro template available as well? wouldn't hurt to ask I guess.

Huh??? why in the world would you want to do this? Are you sure it's even legal?

You can at least scartch my earlier comment about using a template....I thought you were talking about the front.

+1

I've seen a few BMWs here in NorCal with a German plate underneath the CA plate, I can only assume that many are the temp European Delivery plate. I guess it's a badge of honor or something but it sure looks cluttered.

I'm not sure what the CHP thinks but they are not known for giving warnings...

People do it to show they did ED, and some do it just because they can, and some cars look like shit with it

"Fortunately" there were holes pre-drilled in my bumper since I live in MA and front plates are required. When I brought the car home from the dealership I promptly removed the front plate and holder and replaced it with the Euro universal mounting frame. A pair of holes matched up perfectly with the holes used by the US plate holder. Then just added a slight bend to the plate itself to fit in there, and boom. All set

I thought about ordering the OEM Euro plate mounting frame but I'm pretty sure that would have involved drilling more holes. I like this method better.

I don’t know why anyone outside of California would do this (they are the only area that seems to think it doesn’t look horrible), but…

Short of drilling holes, double sided tape would work best. That is what BMW uses on the front of the cars we buy for European Delivery.

Dude, I did ED and have kept my ED plate on the back until I had to replace with the CA plates, I would never sell my plates, and I am very offended that you are buying one..
You are a fraud... You want an ED plate, you should have gotten your car in Munich ..
You are no better than the posers that slap M3 badges on 325i
Whatever man...

There is no such thing as an ED plate (i.e. one type of license plate dedicated to ED) and he never indicated what type of European number plate he was putting on.
