E90 problems fitting a centre console it wont align
i have a pre lci 320d my old centre console had vents in the back and it was really bad paint had come off and it had a cubby hole in it. anyway i changed my interior seats etc to black from a 330d it was a later model probably lci, with one of them big knob things on the centre console which i dont have the knob but thats not an issue.
the issue is i tried to fit the centre console but i cant get it to fit right without force. the 2 holes that take the 10mm bolts wont line up unless i force it forward. the only difference i saw otherwise between the old and the new one is i had to take the air pipe for the back section off the old one and transfer it to the new one. and the holes where the front 10mm bolts were larger on the old one. But even if i copied the old one making them bigger it wouldn't make any difference because they are bigger towards the rear of the car so it wouldn't help with getting it aligned. i am in half a mind of chopping the air tubes at the front under the dash but i dont even think that would do it. anyone got any idea's why it wont push forward enough? |
