A couple codes, no power
I'm deployed for a year so the car has been sitting, when I looked at it about 6 months ago I was getting intermittent power loss (as if losing all boost) and limp mode with DPF on screen warning. I thought the limp mode was related to the filter life warning but I've been told that doesnt cause it. At the time I had a bad grommet for my MAP sensor and assumed my loss of boost was related to that leaking air. Now that i'm home again for a few days I have complete loss of power and the cylinder 6 issue even after replacing the grommet, before when I had bad injectors I didnt get nearly the loss in power that I am experiencing now. Yesterday I was getting no boost and could barely get the car to shift to 2nd after accelerating for awhile, just now I tried to drive down the street and it struggled to get to 1500 rpm and I just turned right around to my driveway and the car stalled when I came to a stop. Just seems crazy fast for the DPF to be clogged, I have barely driven since the first warning sign. I currently have a downpipe and EGR delete racepipe on order along with all new vacuum lines and thermostat. Will likely go with Malone 2.5 tune and gut the SCR system. I'm just hoping that deletes will cure all my problems and I dont have any non emission problems other than the injector. Last edited by Haggerty; 10-30-2021 at 02:45 PM.. |

The deletes are a very good idea. You might also have a lot of CBU which is causing these codes. Check your intake runners and manifold when installing the swirl flap deletes.

Well I went and bought a new battery as I continuously was having issues with the old one. Injector #6 was extremely dirty when I pulled it, I put in one that is probably not much better off as it was pulled previously from another cylinder. I ran it through a sonic cleaner and havent seen the #6 be an issue yet. However I get instant DFP and EGR limp mode as soon as I start the car and now I noticed a huge exhaust or turbo leak? I've attached the short video of the area the hot air is blowing, any ideas what might have broken down in the void I can't see?
After some forum surfing i'm starting to think I have an issue with Part# 13627812806 ![]() ![]() Last edited by Haggerty; 11-02-2021 at 08:02 PM.. |

![]() The car was not driveable anyway, struggled to climb the ramp to take a look underneath. Looks like this blown off vacuum hose coming off the DPF was the source of my problems. Rather than plug it back in and see if it fixed everything im continuing on with my downpipe install. |

I'm on the homestretch, got the motor mount bolts out, what a pain in the ass. Taking a break for the night but all my parts have arrived ready for a good day tomorrow. I did the swirl flap deletes last year and though I have all the gear to do a walnut blast I decided it wasn't worth the effort since it only had a light coating of carbon.
Bimmertune EGR pipe/blockoffs Malone Flashzilla w 2.5 tune Rev9 downpipe new vacuum hoses Its a shame im only going to get a month of driving this car when I get back from deployment and its going to be in snow environment, then I'll either give it to a niece/nephew for 3 years or sell it. |

Got the downpipe in, I believe its made too short, was about half inch away from the stock exhaust atleast. Had to buy a longer bolt up top and pulled the DP towards the midpipe. Was able to get it flush but I feel its putting alot of pressure on the vband area....an area that I can feel a small leak on top of it. With the tune it feels strong, but I still have it on jackstands. Unfortunately with revs I can see the engine bay filling with exhaust. Im really hoping I can get to the vband without removing the motor mount again, I dont know if my hands can survive that again....though now that its running I might be able to drive it an hour to the base for a proper lift. I have alot of codes about DDE not being able to communicate, guessing there is a plug I missed. No message, receiver EGS, EKP, DSC, RDC. CAS road speed, selector lever position.
Best case scenario is the exhaust is coming from the EGR blockoff plate that just needs to be reseated. Last edited by Haggerty; 11-06-2021 at 10:13 PM.. |

Car is running great, the communication codes were temporary and tightening the vband some more took away my leak. I also replaced #6 and drove around for 5 miles but have a small vibration above 65 or so. Next on the agenda new rear tires along with 4 rotors/pads. I also need to put on all the undercarriage shields.
