T-Mobile SDA
Anyone successfully pair the T-Mobile SDA phone to their E90? Nothing on BMW or T-Mobile web sites (or in these threads), so I am hesitant to buy the phone until someone confirms it will work.
thanks |

thanks....I'm also interested to know if the phone book can be transferred successfully. Do you know if this aspect works on the MDA?

Everything works great -- there are a couple other posts on this subject (just run a search for "MDA").

thanks. Yes - found a fair amount of info on the MDA, but not the SDA. I suspect it will probably pair OK, but I'm interested in the phone book aspect. Would be great to find someone who owns both the phone and the car!

Thanks. Bought the phone and set it up. It's all good. Phone book syncs fine as well.

Yes, T-mobile SDA works flawlessly with E90. Pairs easily with complete phone book and calling features. Awesome phone too!

Need actual pairing instructions for SDA please
Quote:
I got my car yesterday and the dealer tried to pair the phone. We got to the point where it says something like searching... but it is unable to find the SDA! On my SDA I set the SDA to "Discoverable".

I got an SDA about a month ago and it's awesome. It paired immediately, and all of my Exchange Server contacts were visible like "<Name> (<h|m|w>)" and the voice dialing responds to "call <Name h|w|m>".
What seems to not work as well is getting incoming calls to ring through the car speakers. I've fiddled with the various ring profiles, but I cannot get that part to work. -MrB |

TMOBILE SDA Pairing
Hi mrbelk,
I have OBEX paskey on & I have it set to discoverable. I waited for 1 minute only as specified by the dealer. Did it take longer for you? Could you please post a step by step for all who haven't had luck with the SDA? Did you use: http://www.jetwaremobile.com/index.htm I'm going to try again tonight. First I'll reboot the phone for good measure and see. If that doesn't work then I'll try with the jetwaremobile software. I'll post my findings tomorrow. Rav |

I have the Bluetooth set to "On," and the "OBEX passkey required" checked. Then from the main iDrive screen, I press down on the puck to get to the system menu, go to Communications->Bluetooth and enable the bluetooth on the car, then go to the "Devices" section of the iDrive BT settings. You should see something on the iDrive screen to the effect of "Bluetooth discoverable from this location" or somesuch. It will take a few seconds, but the phone will eventually "see" the car, and you will be able to say whether you want to pair the two devices. Then, you will be able to specify a passkey of your choice on the phone and the again on the car. After that, it's all done. -MrB |

Ok this is what I did to get the SDA to work with 325i w/o nav.
1. I put the car into search for Bluetooth device mode. 2. ON SDA: Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> Menu -> 1. Devices -> Menu ->1. New After a few moments, It will see the BMW on the SDA, select a good passkey (this is getting more important now days). It will only show handsfree but you will be able to use all features. On the BMW accept this pairing & enter the password. It will download all the phone numbers into the car! I still have to read the manual to get voice dialing to work. NOTE: Each entry will be enumerated multiple times if you have multiple phone numbers saved for that entry. Thanks everyone. |
