Flush fitment wanted: 18x9.5 all around - ideal offsets and tire sizes
I'm looking to run 18x9.5 all around on a street driven pre-LCI E91. I will roll the rear fenders.
What should my effective offsets be front and rear? I am thinking something like +33 - +35 front and +17 - +20 rear? Ideally I would like to run the same size tires front and rear. What should I run? 235/40, 245/40, or 255/35? I have seen various people say the larger tire sizes rub or don't rub. I don't mind running a bit of camber if necessary. Here it is in its current state: |

I have an LCI, which I believe runs 8mm narrower in rear then pre-LCI. Below pic is with 18x9ET30, 255/35 all corners. Running a 5mm spacer in back. Front was perfectly flush, rears needed to come out another 3-4 mm to be flush. Soooo....my setup would be 18x9ET30 Front and 18x9ET22 or so for flush. For LCI. For pre-LCI that you have, you will need 18x9ET14 rears to be flush. But since you want to run 9.5 wide, it would be ET36 front and ET20 rears. 255 will rub ALOT in the front AND rear with the above offsets depending on how square the shoulder of the tire is (assuming you are running stock camber). If you get something with a narrow shoulder (like DWS06) it wont rub too badly. Also something to consider, the rear fenders are extremely difficult to "roll". You really only can "pull" them which is a bit sketchy. YMMV. |

Also, the Will They Fit calculator has been useful in comparing different setups. This is one of my favourite E91's I've seen and basically has the fitment you say I will need. With the wheels I am looking at now I will probably be moving up to a 10.5 in the rear. With around 18x9.5 +33 - +35 in the front and 18x10.5 +30 in the rear. I think 18x9.5 +36 will be cutting it really close with the inner clearance. This will put me a few mm 'beyond flush' front and rear which should be manageable with camber. I think you're definitely right that the 255/35 will be too much in the front with this setup. I think starting with 235/40 or 245/35 is the right move. Now.. only question is if I can run a 265/35 in the rear like this setup. |

Update:
Bought M3 Front Control Arms and Dinan Camber Plates. Should give me -2 degrees camber and an extra 13mm(ish) of room in the front. I'm back to looking at 18x9.5 all around, either 255/35 or 265/35. +22 should be fine in the rear, but I'm debating between +35 and +22 in the front. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts. I am running 18x9et35 255/35 square with a 5 mm offset on the front. Very slight rubbing on the front bumper bolt on very large bumps at speed.
Suspension: M3 front control arms Koni str.t HR sport springs E30 front spring pocket (raised the front ride height 10mm to match the rear) |

Did you ever do this? Were spacers required up front? I want 18x9.5 up front as well but I am not willing to run spacers. Everyone seems to say it's necessary
