Alright guys, the moment you have been waiting for! So here goes the 24hr showdown. Will it be JNic335i's "Molten water" or LaYzEe's "Silent Stream"??

Wow, tough choice here.

On one hand you have molten water... cool 3D effect but I think that effect comes more from being enhanced in post processing than the actual shot. Also, its kinda "ordinary" in terms of it just being water out of a sink faucet... however that is also kinda cool since its an every day thing.

Then you have silent stream. I love the hazy water moving water trick, always been one of my favorites and its done all by the actual photo instead of in PS, but I think over all it lacks that little "kick" from PS in the color department and is left a bit on the "dull" side.

all in all they are both great pics, which makes it oh so hard to choose.

who will I vote for....

I don't think that the first pic has blur phtooshopped in. Only critique I have of it is that you can see the finger prints on the faucet and the background, although blurry, isn't appealing. Water looks awesome though, and that is the theme.

Its not blur nor a photoshop effect, its called Depth of Field (or more commonly referred to as DOF).

Yeh, i wasnt able to PS it at all since i just took that shot right before the contest ended lol...next time though!

But yeh, i'll leave it to u guys to vote!

dude, if you didn't post process this photo 1 bit then I'll come down to AL and let you smack me as hard as you can across the face. I'll remain skeptical on that until you can prove otherwise, email me a copy of the original photo (PM me for my email address) and maybe I'll believe you. thanks I understand the concept as I've taken quite a few Photography classes (its my major) but it looks a bit more than just DOF

well we discussed it. its combo of DOF and him making some adjustments in light room to the lights and darks, contrast too I believe from looking at the original. My point was that SOME kind of post processing helped bring out the depth of field a little more than it normally would look... it wasn't straight from the camera to the contest is what I was saying.
