First time zaino user question
Last night i zaino'ed my car for the first time. When i was applying the zaino it said to use only a dime size because a little goes a long way. My question is how much should a dime size do on my 330? The first coat i put on i think i put on too light, only certain parts of my car would "haze" up. The second coat i put on a little heavier. I only mixed 1 ounce of the Z2 and ZFX and got 2 coats on my car. What are your experiences? Thanks

If you got the ZFX then it came with those mixing bottles. I can usually do the entire car with about a Half a bottle mixed with z2 or z5 with the ZFX.

You did it right, the hazing should be barely noticeable, you want many light coats because it dries quicker and easier to remove. Otherwise, you're just wasting it. Supposedly, if you're good enough, you can extract seven coats from one of those 2ounce bottles they give you!

I now do 3 layers with 1 ounce but have learned to apply it real thin. There are times I can't tell if it's even on the section I just thought I applied it to! Again, it is a knack to laying this stuff real thin and you have to trust the ability of this stuff when it seems you're not buffing anything off. I usually do my wheels with what's left on the applicator.
I like 1 or 2 very thin lines almost like spaghetti on my applicator and work that around a 2 X 2, maybe 2 X 3 section. |

Once you've done about 20 layers over time you'll wonder why you didn't switch to this stuff sooner. Many are put off by what they think is a complicated process but as you've found, like me, it's easy. BTW, what color is your E90?

Great post. I also find that I end up wasting some when I do 1 ounce (1/2 the clear mixing vial that comes with ZFX) - maybe I'll switch to 1/2 ounce/3 drops ZFX from now on.
Do you have to re-wash your car if you want to add another layer or two a week later? I have a sense Z6 is what I'll run out of first since it's easy to use the spray too much and it smells really good ![]()

Q: If I use ZFX and then want to apply another coat of Z2/Z5, do I need to use ZFX again? A: If you are only going to apply one coat of Z2/Z5, then you do not need to use ZFX again. Just use Z2/Z5 as-is. However, if you plan on applying multiple coats of Z2/Z5 in one day, then yes, you will need ZFX. |
