Last time I had electrical problems to that degree, it turn out the loom in the hatch had broken wires in it. Required a new hatch loom.

When my problems started, the first I noticed an issue was when the HVAC went blank. Other things happened, so I did a quick web search with the symptoms, and everything pointed to a bad hatch loom. So, I peeled back the rubber hose that covers the loom on the right side between the body and the top of the hatch. At least four of the wires were broken and a few more had some insulation worn off. Luckily my independent mechanic in Florida was able to find a new loom somewhere in Europe. Wasn't cheap, but works like new now.

I did, but those codes came at the same time as the HVAC and hatch button failures. I have forgotten what they were. I cleared them, but the failures happened again as soon as I drove, because the broken wires were shorting out. As I peeled back the rubber loom cover, it was obvious I had a major wiring issue.
