Rough Idle

So I took my 2007 bmw 328i to the shop to replace the valve cover gasket as well as new spark plugs and oil change.
Once I got my car back my mechanic noticed the service light came on. And he scanned it and got the code P0012, and the idling was rough, like engine was shaking and even stalled once. I cleaned the Vanos Solenoids and the engine light went away and the idling was fine. But today the roughing idling came back, not as bad at first but still, the engine shakes a little.
Anyone know what the issue is? And how I can fix it??

It could be that something isn't tight but probably adaptions need to adjust since you take apart and disconnect a few things. I had a similar experience and I reset my transmission adaptation via the key in first position and pedal to the floor for 20 seconds.. Google resetting transmission adaptions if you have an automatic.. it will also over 200 miles of driving reset.. just my observations but I'm no mechanic
