Square tires on staggered rims
Hello everyone,
I've recently purchase a E92 330i my first BMW the forum has been a wealth of information so far thank in you all. I've had a quick search around the forum but I think I'm trying to do something a that hasn't been done often. Can I run 235/45/17 tires on the 194 stagger rims. 8j front 8.5j rear. I currently have a square 225/45/17 setup. The wheels need replacing. And the rubber is cheap radial gr tires. I want to keep 17" due to road conditions. I really like the look of the 194m wheels and can get a set used locally. I want to keep Goodyear f1's as I have the extended warranty the problem is goodyear don't sell a 255/40/17 and I can't find Bridgestone pontenza sport in that size either. I don't want run flats. I can get 245/4517 for the rears but I though I may as well stay square with 235 and be able to rotate the tires. The car is with the dealer on Saturday for a health check so I will ask them too! Any guidance would be really appreciated. |

I would not rotate a staggered setup front to back since the wheels are not the same width. The tires may be the same but the width would not be. I have a staggered set of Style 189's with PS4S' 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 and just rotate side to side every 8K miles.

Even though do you thinks it's a bad idea to run square tires in staggered rims? |

I would look into 235/45/17 and 255/40/17 on a staggered set up and stay away from Run Flats, they are hard, noisy and more expensive when compared to standard tires.

I think will have too. However the only reputable premium sport tyre I can find in 255/40/17 is conti premium contact 6.
