Apparently i am losing Fuel Pressure....

Dropped my car off yesterday to get my HPFP and some other things checked out and just got a call saying that I am losing fuel pressure but they havent figured out if its from the High side or Low side... Why should that matter? Shouldnt they replace the entire HPFP.... or is that what they would be doing anyways? Just alittle confused

Maybe it means they're not sure which pump is the problem. The HPFP or the inline pump in the rear of the car.

What was the P/N for the last HPFP they replaced? IF i remember correctly, there is a generation 3 pump out which is not refurb. which works well and doesnt fail. Just curious.

Sucks to see it happening again, hopefully bmw is doing it right this time around.

was in the same boat a week ago, i just recently also replaced my hp fuel pump. the limps i was getting at fixx fest back in October were insufficient fuel pressure. so i changed the pump and so far no limps. but then again it only seems to limp at the tracks, which i guess is a good thing lol..

Ummm...not really. Throw in some 100 oct. If your leaning out at least you wont end up in my situation with a detonated cylinder.

maybe you're right, also this gives me the chance to run a great time next time. all of the high speed runs are on race gas no? and a race map? ill go w/o the race map but allow the ecu to adjust timing

P.S> sorry for thread jack AU335, but this is good info anyway no?

A little UPDATE:

Found out to be the Low Pressure Fuel Pump. So does that mean my HPFP is okay and doesnt need to be replaced also at the same time?
