Thoughts on replacing Hifi speakers with new factory parts?

I want to replace the speakers in my car in the next months (I have a 2006 E91 with HiFi), and was contemplating going with the Match component speakers available through crutchfield ($700 total for front and rear). I will be sticking with the factory amp for cost considerations, though I am well aware of its limitations.

I was surprised to see that you can still buy factory-new replacement midrange and tweeter drivers for the HiFi system, for about $475 (4 midrange and 4 tweeters), which is more than $200 less than the Match systems. Has anyone here replaced the factory speakers with new replacement factory parts? I have to imagine that new factory speakers will sound better than that 16 year old speakers in my car now, but I have no idea what this system sounded like when it was new, and therefore cannot evaluate whether factory replacements are at all worthwhile.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

My HiFi amp in the e91 is a bit flakey, thanks to getting wet a few times. My plan is to go with https://www.bimmer-tech.net/speakers...lifier-for-bmw

The weakest part of the Hi Fi system it the Hi Fi amp.

The Hi Fi amp is garbage the orginal speakers are pretty bad to .

They put in 2 ohm speakers to inflate the Hi Fi Specs and good speakers witll
require more power than the Hi Fi amp has to give.

They sell the Hi Fi parts really cheap on Ebay because a lot of people ditch them.

Audiotech Fisher makes a Fantastic Amp/Dsp's (the ones that Bimmertech and Bavsound rebrands)
I have heard the speakers are pretty good.

I appreciate this, tuna, but my question is how do brand new hifi parts compare to the Match speakers? That's what I am looking for.

My guess is there would be no comparison at all.
This is the same system BMW has been using for years and mostly
they have been looking for ways to cheapen it further.
The other thing is you cannot compare speakers that are actually
designed to take some power to those designed for the bottom
line when it comes to saving costs.
They would have to have the same ohms and power ratings and they
are nowhere near close.

Yeah pretty much no difference doing speaker upgrade. Wasting your time with factory amp.

Best thing i did for my hifi was skip the speakers (for now atleast) and go a Audiotech Fisher Match UP 7BMW amp. Difference is huge! You'd be surprised how hard it goes with factory speakers.
