Xdrive oil pan gasket
I recently purchased an e90 with about 84k miles, and went to check how the undercarrage looked and behold! My oil pan gasket shit the bed. Since this is a big undertaking for me to do by myself, and I am not going to pay $1500+ to get it fixed at a dealership, I am not sure how different the procedure is between the XDrive and RWD platforms. I cant seem to find many videos on youtube for the XDrive, so maybe someone could reply with a good thread or perhaps just point me in the right direction.

You’ll want to drop the subframe completely. Including the power steering rack. The front diff bolts to the oil pan and the passenger side axle runs through the pan to connect to the differential. It’s a bitch to do anything up front on an x drive car. Even on a lift

Wait till turbos need doing as it's pretty much the same labour. Subframe out, alignment etc. Mine only drips about 1 or 2 drops a week so there is no harm in waiting.

- It's pretty much the same on an N54 car. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1211290 |

I did it on my car ina 10x20 storage unit on jackstands , subframe really isn't too bad to remove, just a bunch of suspension and steering rack diy from ecs on youtube for turbos is pretty helpful

Oh and i had to remove the diff, pretty easy once you have the subframe out but i left the right side diff mount in the oil pan which made it herder to out back in with the gasket
