In a previous post, I expressed my worry about timing issues after my valve cover was replaced by an auto repair shop, a job they said they were capable of doing. I took the car into the shop again and expressed my concern, due to there being a warranty on the repair. The shop looked over their work and took it for a test drive, saying that it didn't seem to be any major issue, and said that if I wanted them to look into it deeper, it would cost a hefty bit due to the parts that had to be removed. I was reluctant to do this, as money isn't exactly a large commodity as a college student, so I brushed it off.

It was fine for a while, as they said there shouldn't be any catastrophic failures, but it all went downhill from there. I was on a drive one day and pulling into a parking lot to go to a store and all of a sudden my motor quietly shut off. There were no loud noises or clunking, it just shut off. I was very concerned, as when I tried to restart my car, it wouldn't even crank. It just did nothing. I had to push the car into a parking spot, and then walk down the road a ways to an auto parts store so they could test my battery, to see if that was the issue. The battery wasn't fully charged, but that wasn't the issue, as it still should've turned over with the power that it had left. I had to get it towed to a nearby mechanic, which just so happened to be a BMW master tech luckily. He's been digging at it the last few days and he says that its having major timing issues, and there's a good chance it was caused by the last shop that worked on it when they replaced the valve cover.

Any advice?
