Brake calipers
Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum and ordered an M240i earlier this month. I’m getting a Portimao Blue car with cognac sensatec interior. Windows will be tinted, but I can’t make up my mind for the calipers. Blue or red?! Red gives it a sportier look in my opinion but the blue might fly under the radar a bit more, perhaps even understated? Would like to hear your thoughts

I ordered PB with the blue calipers. I like color consistency and prefer it to blend in more. Though, my Alfa Romeo Giulia is just the opposite with a green exterior and yellow calipers, but that's the way it came when I found it on the lot.

Thank you SO much for sharing that picture of your car, this really helps me to see it. The PB hasn’t been shown off too much, lots of purple and grey from the press cars. Really loving this look!

As mentioned in my last topic, I wonder if there is a difference between the blue and red calipers, besides the color.
I saw that they were free in the USA, while in Europe or Canada, it's 600 Euros extra. Just for painting?? |

On another topic, you could choose black as another option. |

Yup… exactly the same, only 600€ extra for the red paint, and I still bought it haha… I told my dealer really don’t understand why the extra cost. He told me, the red is a popular option and lots of people are willing to pay for it, exactly like I did. So why wouldn’t Bmw charge for it.

Portimao over black w blue stitching. Totally understand if you want it to blend though! With my estoril F22 I think calipers were also estoril or very close to it, bigger difference with portimao so thought that blue to blue contrast would bug me a bit.

Red is more the iconic Audi/GTI color I find (for the brakes). And blue seems better to me, go with purple, but that's personal taste Finally, a little petty from BMW if it's just the color at 600 Euros (but it's the same also at Audi) |

Rumor has it the blue calipers stop 5 feet shorter due to the cooler color.

Wow this picture has me impatient for the PB with M Pro Sport package, the car looks phenomenal. I like the red calipers with the black interior, looks very sporty!
