07 335i slipping in 4th gear through 6th
hi i am new to this so i apologize if this is in the wrong forum but i wanted some second opinions on my issue before i go ripping the transmission apart
i bought my car last week and on the first drive home i gassed it which made the car shake and once it reached fourth gear it revved out like i had thrown the car into neutral! it immediately went into limp mode locking it into third gear. i did some research and assumed it was the transmission fluid or the solenoids. i replaced both of those and threw the car back together. the shaking was gone and 1st through third gear was great but as soon as it reached 4th gear it again revved up like it was in Neutral throwing the car into limp mode once again after more research my conclusion now is that it is the e clutch and it is worn down past the point of saving but i would love a second opinion. thank you very much |

First you should scan for codes. Then read transmission adaptation numbers. Bimmergeeks Protool and XHP apps are great for this.
If you don't know the last time the fluid, filter and seals were changed out, then buy a service kit from FCP Euro. Draining the fluid, removing the pan/filter, removing the mechatronics unit and then the 4 sealing sleeves, mechatronics bridge seal...is all very easy to do at home on jack stands or a lift. |
