Clutch/gearbox difference 328i/330i vs 130i/Z4?

Hello,

Does anyone know the reason why the clutch and gearbox are different?

Z4 3,0i and 130i uses 228mm clutch and 328i/330i/other uses 240mm clutch?
There is also a difference in the part numbers of the gearbox.

European 325i and US 328i are using Getrag GS6-17BG with smaller clutch. European 330i is using ZF GS6-37BZ with larger clutch. You can use larger clutch on 325i/328i because flywheels are same as 330i. ZF transmission input shaft is different. However, you can get aftermarket larger clutch for Getrag transmission. Both transmissions have same gear ratios.

Thanks for the answer.

I meant why the 130i and Z4 3.0i use a 228mm OE clutch? All others in the GS6-37BZ gearbox use a 240mm OE clutch.
The aftermarket is usually 240mm

Aftermarket:

Edit.
I could solve this?
I looked at the 328i, 330i and 130i Luk Aftermarket clutch part numbers.
Only the Clutch Plate has a different number. Everything else is the same.

Input shaft is different the 130i/Z4 GS6-37BZ gearbox vs the 330i GS6-37BZ gearbox? This would be the reason why the gearboxes part number is also different.

I have an e81 130i.

That would be tough. 540Nm...
A Torque limit would be ready enough for a Supercharger. I guess the stock dmfw can't handle the 540Nm torque.
However, the price is expensive.

My 130i was installed a new Luk DMF and a Valeo 240mm clutch. The clutch is the same as the N52/N53 for the 3/5/X-Series and a few other models.
I think 240mm clutch holds a little more torque than the 228mm original clutch.
Everything works great and the clutch feels great and is easy to drive.
The clutch is normal, not SAC.

The old disk was a bit worn out. There was also slipping, especially after I did many WOT pulls.
