Hi all,

A long time browser here posting for the first time. A fellow E92 335i owner based in Brum. I usually post on Evotechnik, however have been coming over here more often recently because of the E92 focus.

Slowly personalising my beast and have received some sterling advice from some EvoT members (Peppernick, Finnie, IMU).

Recently noticed some excessive and ugly rusting on my wheel hubs and calipers - A few searches revealed it to be a common problem. As opposed to getting into a dispute with the dealer I've decided to sort myself with some elbow grease and hammerite smooth silver paint. I was hoping whether someone could advise the recommended torque settings for the wheel nuts when I put the alloys back on? Or di just tighten as much as possible?

Don't know if you noticed, but there's a sticky on the front page regarding this very subject - it's pretty common and it seems that most are addressing the issue themselves rather than trying to get it sorted through the dealer network.

Torque setting for the nuts are 120Nm. And welcome to this forum!

When I replace the locking wheel nut back into it's recepticle in the boot of my car, how much force is required to insert it fully before the risk of breaking a nail.

I did mate. It just seems that most people didn't really get any where via the dealer - The best I could hope for was for some dealers to contract a 3rd party to clean for you. If after an argument that is the best you get, I'd rather do myself to be honest.

Zaytar: Do it yourself mate.

I`ve done it twice now, first with my E90 a couple of years back, and more recently with my E92. Wheels off, rub down, Hammerite...........sorted !

Also much more enjoyable than letting the dealer do it, and gives you a Saturday afternoon away from `er indoors !
