Adaptive Cruise Pulled?
Looks like adaptive cruise has been pulled from my build. Waiting to hear back from the dealer.
Does anyone know if they plan to install the module later? Possibly an error? If they just remove it, someone can have my allocation. I'm not paying 58k for a car to not have it. I'll just pick up a 2 year old x3m with an s58 for around the same price. |

Don't think they plan on installing it later. Not an error either. When I place my order, the ACC was not available (chip shortage I assume). Not a big deal, to me, as I never used it in my other cars.

Let us know what the dealer tells you about when it might be available again.
I can see how you'd be disappointed that it got pulled from your order.

I'm going to my dealer tomorrow to place my order. I believe they have an allocation for April 🤞
I will also inquire about ACC. I'd like to have it, but in no way is it a deal breaker for me. I'll update this thread tomorrow with what I hear |

I always wonder, these things are usually standard but are pulled due to shortage will the dealer at some point offer to install them at a later time when they become available? I feel like it's something they should offer if usually comes standard and is part of the price your paying.

the car has what is called Dynamic Cruise Control standard, and on VIN decoders it's called Cruise control with brake function... that standard feature is still present on all M240i |

They have had brief windows where standard features were unavailable, like SiriusXM for a week or two last year. Even then they didn’t go back and add it, you got a credit on the purchase price. |

Honestly, I had ACC on my Audi RS5 and not having it on the M240i - well, I don’t miss it. This won’t be a commuter car for me though.

Part of the reason I'd be willing to switch is the depreciation. Pick up a faster car with more potential thats already taken a 15k hit. AND I don't have to ship the ECU off to Finland(now). I want a 9ish second luxury street car. Not too particular on the model. If I wanted a driver's car, I'd buy something manual.

have you ever tried it before? I found ACC to be invaluable on out of town trips. My wife just got a mini-van with ACC and she loves it on trips.

I have. It's not a big deal for me. I prefer to be in control of the car at all times, just me. I understand the appeal for others though.

Driving a Tesla across the country requires a lot of extra time charging. ACC was/is not an expensive option that some may use heavily. Why wouldn't someone take advantage of technology that betters their lives?

Not saying not to take advantage of it, I’m saying it’s wild that’s it’s such a big deal if it’s not available. If you’re so worried about the car being able to do something for you that most people do on their own, then by all means, get a different car that offers it. None of that changes the fact that worrying so much about it is an incredibly first world problem lol.

a new bmw is a first world choice. IMHO not getting an option on a luxury item is a bigger deal. |

Update:
Well, I told the dealer I was backing out to get into an m2 comp. The manager called his way up the company. Assumed he bitched everyone out because I now have adaptive cruise back on my build. Set for week 14 production still. Salesman will confirm tomorrow. |
