Help Diagnosing 11A030 Fault

Started getting a delayed throttle response from a complete stop. Power delivery didn't seem normal, so I hooked up Carly, and it threw 11A030.

I'm on stock HPFP, so could this just be a sign of need to replace it? From what I've read on here, most people with this fault have upgraded from stock hpfp and have this in conjunction with other codes.

After restarting the car, the power delivery seems normal, but the code still occurs (although it is listed as "not serious" on Carly..).

Any help is appreciated. I'm at 71k miles.

It's a code for the LPFP. Are you tuned? Would be nice to see a log.

I have BM3 Stage 1 93 Tune. Unfortunately I haven't ever run any logs since I'm just DP + Stage 1 93 w/ ample access to 93oct.

Is this just a sign of a failing LPFP then? Seems odd considering the car runs and pulls fine most of the time, I've just noticed the issues with throttle response a few times, and then this came up.

Try to do a pull and take a log. I'm curious.

I'll read up on how to properly log this weekend then. Tried it once with bootmod3 but couldn't get anything to record.

Once your app is connected, go to Dashboard, then double tap the screen, give it a WOT pull until 6500rpm, then double tap to stop the lag. Post the link after.

Do it in 3rd gear, right?

Most likely lpfp or the controller.

I think I can manually reset the adaptation with this sequence:
* Press the start button once to turn on power (Don't start the engine)
* Press the accelerator down to the floor for at least 5 sec.
* Hit start button once to turn off power
* Remove foot from accelerator
* Wait for min. 2 minutes
* Start the engine and drive

What's the extent of cleared data when you reset this? I have xhp trans tune as well as 40k miles of data on my driving habits.

Yeah, I don't mess with that non-scanner stuff. I like confirmation that adaptations have been reset. There is no need to reset trans adaptation.

Is it that likely I'd be having issues with the lpfp on stock turbo with just a stage 1 tune?

Haven't tried it yet, but Carly can reset Engine adaptation too, so I'll give it a go when I'm back in the car.

It's an electrical component that can fail just like anything else.

Primarily it needs to prime the system before you start the car. So that usually leads to difficulty on cold starts if it's failing. But the code is pointing to LPFP even if you aren't having startup issues.

Here's a couple 3rd gear pulls. I'll send 2 links cause they all didn't feel consistent (have to go further out of the city to get longer roads to do a pull on, OBD kept disconnecting from bm3 for some reason )

This is with the default variables, so hopefully what you're interested in is there.

Thanks man

Can happen. My LPFP failed at 18k miles. Car stalled, and wouldn't restart. I just had MPPSK at that time.

Been having the same problem with my 2017 440i… power delivery seems okay but the code keeps coming back. I’m assuming at this point I should just replace lpfp.

Same. Throttle response seems slower every once in a while, but nothing too much of a concern. As people above have stated, if this is a wearable part--especially considering I'm tuned--then I'd rather be proactive and just replace it before I'm stuck on the side of the road.

I’ve driven 40k miles since this post and haven’t needed to replace the lpfp. Car has driven perfectly fine. I eventually got a fuel tank venting fault which threw a CEL maybe 5k miles after this post. The sensor was replaced and that fixed all the issues I would have with occasional trouble getting throttle response from a dead stop.

Did you end up replacing the stock hpfp?
