I'm quite known to be disapproving of bmws new direction with design. I think the rear end of this car is hilariously bad. And everything else is meh. But I will say they really seem to have nailed driving dynamics down solid now. Cars like the f80, though capable were very tail happy and hard to predict but the G80 (after driving one) is a masterpiece to drive.

Seems like this new 2 is one in the same. If you like the way they look more power to you cause you'll certainly love the way it drives. B/S58 FTW

I guess I should buy a Cayman since I don't have kids.

100% agree. The rear looks like multiple departments designed it and the overall design does not look balanced compared to the last generation.

The profile is the car's best angle...long, sleek, and aggressive.

At 3:49 this car looks like it can get away with anything.

Personally, lover the rear end design. It looks 100% better in person.

Rear tail lights and their integration give me Kia vibes

I love the way it looks. So much so it will be my first bmw after years of Audis. Always fancied a bm but there has never been a model that’s made me pull the trigger. M440 was close but I couldn’t live with the nose. A lot of the hate seems to be from traditional bmw owners. Maybe the different direction has attracted a different market of buyers 😂

To me it looks awkward, but I guess that's the reason I like it so much. It looks like no other car in the world, except that it shares proportions of the classical smaller coupe BMWs. To me, this is much more a real BMW than the 4 or even 8 series.

Knowing it uses some of the best technical parts ever since the existance of cars, just makes it even more appealing. The chassis, the engine, the transmission, the X-drive are all best in class.

Agreed, I think Winra is spot on. This is the first time I've ever truly considered a BMW. Not that I haven't liked any BMWs in the past, but I've never looked at one and said to myself "that's my next car" until now.

This is me too. I've never had any desire to test drive one before. And here I am.

I test drove one. And then the next day I went back and took it home.

I test drove one and looking at it in person IMO it looks good from all angles (including the back end).

This video best explains how the M240i treads that line between sporty & practicality.

I really thought this was going to be my next car but then the GR Corolla showed up.

Been itching to get back in an M car again having sold everything except our Model Y.

The 240i seems to strike that balance between sporty and comfort for me at this point in my life unlike a true M car but after watching some of the videos of the GR it got my heart racing again like when they used to release a new M model.

Personally, I love the design and as long as it doesn't have beaver teeth it's a win. You really need to see this car in person, it's completely different.

I think you did the smart thing.

I test drove one a few months ago and when I got out of the car I ordered one on the spot. And I’m trading in a low mileage, 2019 BMW 330i xdrive that I really like. The M240i felt that good and was exactly what I was looking for: even more sporty driving fun.

It’s on the boat so it should be here in a few weeks. On second thought, maybe I was the one who did the smart thing!

You won't regret it one bit. I can't stop raving about how good I find this car to drive. It's superb!

In real life the looks are lovely. As an example, I went to an exclusive car show over the weekend and parked well away from the display in a general car park. When I returned to the car I had an audience of spectators admiring and asking questions.

BMW have made a great car in these weird times of car design and changes based on my thoughts
