335d suddenly no boost from either turbo

Driving my 335d just steady when I stopped at some lights and started to go no boost at all nothing from either one! The brakes work ok so not the vacuum pump.

Took it to a friendly BMW specialist and he plugged it in but no comms with the DDE!

Could a faulty DDE be the cause of the boost issue? Any ideas what I need check as it was running perfectly before and then like a switch nothing!

If you get no comms from the DDE the car won't even start. You sure this guy knows what he's doing?

Maybe give us some background on your recent routine maintenance. Vacuum lines done? I don't want to jump to conclusions and say pressure converters as you should have gotten a code if one of those (for instance 4530).

Getting lots of smoke now?

The no comms was that the diagnostic test kit wouldn't talk to the module.
It has in the past.

It has been driven a few times and not fixed it self.

It has been off the road now a couple of months due to lack of time to be able to look at it with work life etc…

Now mot and tax has expired so can't do any road testing!!

I'll going to look at it tomorrow so will check the hoses. As both don't boost guessing that looking at the hoses that are common to both would be my first point of call?

On a side note what is the best Bluetooth obd reader and software for the iPhone for BM's?

So the DDE is not your problem. Vac lines been replaced? Both pressure convertors? EV valve that controls the compressor bypass? building vacuum at idle?

Just remove the bracket and the EV valve is staring you right in the face. If you're going in there replace everything.

Project Seven videos should be a viewing requirement before making a thread.
