just ordered the Eonon headunit -- can i delete my faulty Mulf2?

So I did it gain.. I fried my Mulf2 unit tranporting water jugs that spilled.

I would like to delete the Mulf2 altogether, as it does create a little audio feedback/buzzing..

Pretty sure the Eonon unit does Not communicate with the Mulf2, so I hopefully expecting it work when installed -- anyone have any comments on this?

And if its not a problem running a faulty Mulf2 with an aftermarket headunit, do you think I can delete it? Just unplug, or will I need to do some coding?

Car is a 09 335i, no nav, and the basic bmw professional sterio(non Logic 7.) The Eonon unit is model GA9465B, the one with the two knobs vs the newer full touchscreen.

last question.. anyone running MHD on this unit using the wifi dongle from MHD, or should i run the obd2 cable to the usb port at the back of the Eonon headunit? Kinda want to be able to stream music(wifi hotspot + spotify android app, plus be able to run MHD logs and gauge monitoring)

1) I removed my TCU (the predecessor of MULF) once I installed my Eonon. While I could have figured out how to change the Fiber Optic links to cut out the TCU out of the loop -- I didn't feel like experimenting. Instead I used one of the orange Fiber optic 'loop' cables from Amazon to connect input and output when I removed my TCU. This worked fine. I think if you don't do this -- you'll get errors.

I don't recall whether I needed the male or female connector -- but the above comes with both.

2) I'm not running MHD -- but I run the Torque app from a wireless bluetooth dongle permanently plugged into my OBDII port. I'm able to run Torque while simultaneously streaming audio from my phone over bluetooth.

I should note that Eonon + TCU worked fine -- the TCU didn't interfere with the Eonon. I removed the TCU out of a sense of cleanliness.

thanks!

I do have the optic loop cable.. cos I think I had to delete my telematics when I first fried my unit and my mechanic through in a spare Mulf2..

So there are two "modules" stacked.. one on the bottom that is the Mulf2, and the one stacked on top is the TCU? I can essentially "delete" both, as long as I am able to "cap" the signal with a loop cable, and just delete both modules?

Ill probably do the install as-is, to make sure it operates, and then experiment with removing both trunk modules. and the third module in the driver side trunk fender well -- is that a keeper, ,or rendered redundant as well? Sorry, I'm super ignorant on electrical components.
