My day at the Track JB3 1.1 review

First off, I would like to say that my driving skills at the track aren't the best in the world, but I was able to beat my best time today. My mod's are BMS intake, JB3 1.1. We showed up at the track around 1:00 and the weather was a cool 51 degree's. There was no one at the track. I did about 30 runs or so the entire day. My first couple of runs weren't so good. I was doing 60ft. 2.2 and running 13.1's.

A418t81 showed up in his 335 with his 335i with 93 pump just like myself. I will go ahead and tell you, he is one of the best drivers I have ever seen. He pulled a 12.6@110. At this point i'm a little upset of how I was performing so I let him take the car down the track. Well..... LOL he pulled a 12.8 in my car. By this point I'm feeling better about my car. Then the Sunco 100 octane showed up that I paid for. I put in 3-4 gallons and WOW, WOW, WOW. I have never ran race gas in my car, but it is very impressive. I ended up getting my 60ft's down to 1.94's and ran a 12.8@ 109.

After the track I decided to hop in the passenger seat just to see how 100 octane felt in the passengers point of view. Well I will just tell you I was shaking. And when boost hit I could feels pressure on my eyes! very impressed yet again. All and all JB3 is great and the power is very impressive!

Also I am very impressed by Terry. On the way home I went WOT to get on the interstate and went into limp mode. I pulled over turned the car off and tried again to see if I could get the same results. Well, I did. So I gave AU335 a call to e-mail terry my problem and asked Terry to give me a call. Within 10 mins Terry gave me a call and I explained what was going on. (same thing I ask earlier with cold weather). Terry assured me everything would be ok and 1.2 would fix the problem So I give Terry a huge applause for taking time out of his Sunday to help me out! Thanks bro!

I was able to shoot video on all of our runs and will put a video together. And post later on once I have edited it.

Damn I have not seen too many limps with the JB platform, but recently there have been alot of OP that have issues of limps with JB3 V1.1 I hope 1.2 fixes these problems...It is really rare to see JB tunes go into limp mode....What was the reason that Terry gave for going into limp mode, if you don't mind letting the public know?

Some of the pre 29.2 cars have been having trouble with cold weather. The cold weather is affecting the duty cycles of fuel delivery, which causes the ECU to go into limp mode. He said that 1.2 fixes the problem. I did WOT runs after I got home and no Limps at all. So I think it has to do with high speed's because that is the only time I have gotten them. Although, I was at the track all day and didn't get one.

The issue is hit and miss, only a couple people have ever had this problem, it is also amplified from what i heard by the plugs going.

Ended up 12.6 @ 111 on pump. I also trapped 111 launching in 2nd gear I got a 1.90 60' on my beaten 19" generals with 40 psi in the back. Who needs drag radials

My car still isn't quite up to snuff, got a few niggly little things to take care of and 1-2 mph more needed on pump before I'm happy. That 3-4 shift so near the end of the track KILLS the 6MTs MPH. The E55 I slowly pulled last night 50-120 or so was there and ran 11.9@116. Most of my showdowns usually are from a roll, so I'm happy that the car performs the best where I want it to.

Our tracks have already closed. Kinda funny that Atlanta Dragway and Silver Dollar shut down so early especially considering the latitude.

When are you coming in town BTW?

We should set soemthing up. Andrew is at some Poker tournament in Mexico this weekend and last I heard, he made it to the final table. Hopefully he makes it home. But anyway, I'll be installing my DP's over the holidays now, any extra hands are welcome, JK...

LOL @ Andrew. I'll be back up that way around the 19th which is my birthday. Will be there for all that next week. Definitely need to get together. I put the DPs on my car, definitely willing to lend a hand. I know you have perfected the "on your back" technique, but it really is much more pleasant on a lift

Granted, I still enjoy working under the car, I'm just getting too old that my body doesn't always agree.

Drop me a note as the time gets closer and I will try and speak with Andrew as well so we can plan something. At a minimum, your brother may need to try another round of GT4 in my basement on the Nordschleife. Of course beer will be provided.

I also meant to say that Justin did a good job improving on his driving skills at the track. Strong work man, keep it up.
