Oil filter housing hex plugs on top?

Hello,

Does anyone know what the 2 hex plugs are for on the top of the N54 oli filter housing?

I watched a video of someone removing them and they don't hold anything in place I can see.

Any reason one could not be used for an oil pressure sender?

Cheers!

I have seen people run a second oil cooler off of them :

If that's the case they should work fine for a pressure sensor as people run pressure sensors teed off the lower oil cooler pipes. I will try and find the thread and test it out.

Vehicular DIY did a video on adding a oil pressure sensor, worth watching.

Thanks. Seen that one but he already has a aftermarket oil cooler so it's easy to tap. I'm stock oil cooler and looking for an easy way to add a sensor. You can't tee the stock pressure switch because it fowls the manifold

Going to try this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-8-NPT-Female-To-M20x1-5-Male-Reducer-Oil-Pressure-Gauge-Adapter-Brass-sump-/282766286798?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46 890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

With this screwed in to it permanently on the lower of the 2:

Believe there will be enough room to clear the bonnet and should not look too bad....will post the results
