Funny Idle

'07 335i coupe 6mt with 16.5k miles.

I've had the car for a couple of weeks but started to notice a weird sputter at idle that happens every 20 seconds or so. The rpms change just a tad but no warning lights at all.

Almost like a small misfire but that would cause a CEL to come on.

I notice this happens when I run the car a little hard then back off, and when I'm stopped at idle, it does this.

There was a thread about this back in '07 but there was no conclusion... only suggestion was an exhaust valve was shutting too soon... I'm not sure!

Any thoughts?

Mine does the same thing. I will mention it to the service department when I bring it in for the first oil change within the next month.

I think you may need a oil change. Im over due for service, but im dropping her off friday this week. I need oil change cause i drive hard. I say every 4500miles for hard drivers

Oil was just changed 700 miles ago!
