X-pipe from factory? Sedan exhaust question

I've searched the forums a few times and watched WAY TO MANY YouTube videos for sound comparisons but I'm still confused by this section of the exhaust below. I purchased an x-pipe but didn't see how to even install it. My exhaust sounds great since going cat-less. Anyone know if this an x-pipe, cat, h-pipe, or something else? My exhaust isn't as loud as others and probably not worth messing with just curious!
Thanks

Hey Jaron,

That is the stock resonator on the e90. It is not a x-pipe, h-pipe, or cat. The e92 has a x-pipe in its place from factory since its the "sportier" model. I have a x-pipe in its place on my e90. What is your current exhuast setup?

If your catless, personally wouldn't bother with any other mods, other than Golf T and PE mod.

I was wondering! That's an odd shaped resonator. I did custom PE mufflers, cat-less DP, and removed secondary cats/installed Vibrant 1792's.
Guess I'm running two resonators....
This could explain why the sound isn't as loud.
