I had paint correction and ceramic coating done by a local detailer on my brand new X5 and needless to say from the title of this thread, there are lots of swirl marks now visible in the paint (which were not there when dropped off). I have not paid for the service and will be disputing it. This detailer was highly recommended by my CA as they don't do ceramic coating at the dealership. I'm beyond livid and can't take my mind off of my now glossy, yet very visible swirl marked paint on my BRAND SPANKING NEW X5.

So my questions are, how soon and if possible can the paint correction and ceramic coating be done? And if having it re-done will create more imperfections in the paint?

almost immediately usually 1 day. You will have to have the process done from the beginning. Once the paint enhancement is completed they should of made sure everything was smooth and swirl free with the paint light before any coating went on.

All you will be doing is repolishing the clear coat and at the same time removing most of the old ceramic coating. This story sucks because if they did all the work to get to the point of applying the ceramic coating and it was still swirled up, that was a wasted effort and obviously newbs.

Thank you. Good to know it can be done almost immediately. I have called around to a few more reputable ceramic coating detailers in my area and hoping to get an appointment soon. This situation has made me lose the abundance of excitement I had after finally taking delivery after 2 months from ordering and tracking the build and shipment progression. :

Once you get a proper correction done you'll be in love again.

Had it re-done by another detail shop and it turned out perfect
