Rattles?

I feel like I have read virtually every article and post, and watched every online video about the G42, but this is the first I've heard someone mention interior rattles.

For you guys who already have your cars, have you noticed any?

The only rattling I hear is my passengers teeth when I’m giving them a white knuckle ride. Apart from that my car is rattle free

Just hit 4,000 miles and my 230 has developed a nasty rattle in the dash, right behind the instrument cluster LCD.

Uh-oh! You planning to live with it, take it to the dealer, or get after it yourself?

I'm going to take it to the dealer. I have a few other issues I want them to look at (every once in a while, the car feels like it misfires when idling and it stalled on me once).

1100 miles

On Highway the drivers door top area by door lock pin rattles ever so lightly.

Second time I noticed it today.

Maybe window air resonance or something?

I had similar issue in my 2012 BRZ with no fix.

If it happens a third time I will spend more time figuring it out.

Still annoying.

Agree with the thoughts shared previously that this is a VERY good build quality platform. I am about 3 months and 3K miles in (m240i), and every time I think I hear a noise and start to get nervous about a rattle (I’m coming from an F30), I realize it’s just something I have in the center console or my sunshade lying in the back. Very solid car so far even after I’ve driven it more aggressively for a bit now.

I've had my 2023 for 2 month now and since new I have 2 rattles. One where I isolated it the spring in the passenger seat buckle receptacle and another one from the left side driver air vent. I sprayed some silicon lubricant into the buckle receptable which solved it and I wedged some neoprene pad between the vent and the back of the ID8 screen which lessened the squeaks but didnt illiminate it.

Yep, steering column area and behind the center display (which vibes on certain low frequencies)

Yes… rattling is presence, especially in the center console dash.
I’m allready at 25.000km and rattles get little worse as time passes.
But I’m living with it. It’s not iritating yet.

I only have 500 miles and I feel like I have this same rattle as well. Need to drive more to be sure, though.

Took delivery in July and do have 2 separate instances of rattles. One was coming from the front speaker at the base of the windshield which I resolved myself by popping up the speaker cover and wrapping some of the plastic clips with electric tape (few videos floating around the web/forum on this) and the other new rattle seems to be coming from the driver's door panel. I can't seem to figure out exactly where its coming from but seems to be either the tweeter or speaker, but haven't found the courage to pop the door panel out myself yet. It's faint and only rattles at a very specific frequency in 4th gear for a moment or two. Not sure if anyone has resolved that one.

I am also experiencing similar!

Vibration/rattle almost tinny noise from centre dash I think. Think this probably was from new but hadn’t noticed until I had driven more as it’s a very quiet ride inside (comfort) it’s more noticeable.

Again very very subtle and can be heard more around 30/40 mph in comfort or sports doesn’t seem to be noticing below or over that speed most likely due to increased tyre noise over 40mph masks it some what.

Still trying to pin down where it’s coming from. Will eventually book into BMW but trying to locate myself first as to at least the area.

Would also be interested if anyone else has experienced the same and or found the location/cause. Other than this it’s a solid build for me!
