2009 335xi Coupe Maximum Rim Size

I was wondering what the max rim size on the 335xi Coupe was and what the measurements would be. I was looking into at least 19" from BBS, but really liked the 22" TIS 07 in black. Also, was wondering if modifying the kit could possibly affect the max rim size at all, I am also dropping it by 1.8 in the back and 2.0 in the front, or 2.1 in the front and 2.3 in the back, (or maybe someone has suggestions?). Please leave your feedback.

20's are pushing it. I'd bet on 21" being the absolute reasonable maximum on the e92. I dunno if that would even work.

Oh, one more thing...

What is the max tire size that can fit on the car without messing with anything?

Edit: I looked at Tire Rack and all I can seem to find is 225/45, is there anything that will fit that is quite alot bigger than that? like 260+/50+?

19's fill the fenders perfectly. lots of people here run 235/35, 265/30, but lots of people say that's not big enough. if you roll your fenders you can run 275s in the back.

check out the wheel/tire section.

Just for fun I selected 20" online--I think the fitment was 265's in the rear. The rims were cheap (probably so heavy they don't sell) so the package was only $1500's.......

I've got a 2009 x-dive coupe and I'm running 275/30 non-runflat Bridgestone Pole Positions on 19" M6 reps and I have not experienced any rubbing. That said, I never carry more than one passenger, and they're always in the front seat.

i wouldn't take anything above 19"s. it's the perfect compromise between looks vs. performance. if you go bigger you end up sacrificing handling and i think it looks horrible too.

Depends if by maximum size you mean the largest that will physically fit on the car or the largest you can put on there without your car looking tacky. I wouldn't go larger than 19"

Ok realistically like others here have said, 20's are the max you can physically put while still being able to find a tire thin enough to not throw off the rolling diameter. But 19s would be the best trade-off for performance, comfort and looks.

Try anything in a RWD car and you know 10x less about what you're doing. RWD= Way less Traction, way less control, its like gambling with your car, with FWD and AWD cars you know where you're going to end up, you know what you're doing. This is my fun car. Well, I'm sick of going through only 2 sets of bald tires at a time, and would much rather wait a couple more months to go through all 4. Oh yeah....The Xi has been tested as faster than the 335i...not to mention the M3 is a little played out this year, I've been over it since the E46 came out and everyone started getting either that one or an Evo and thinking they're just "the shit". Not to mention.....an AWD option for 1,000 Extra..you're joking me, right (you must be stupid not to jump at a factory installed AWD system for that much).




Thanks to everyone who left their feedback on the Rim size, the rubbing was mostly what I was concerned about.

God damn you are retarded. If anything, going from RWD to AWD is easy, vice versa is what will get you in trouble because you never learned how to control the car in the skid.

1 thing, read my post and understand what I said, retard. There isn't one time where I said going from RWD to AWD was not easy or anything about it for that matter, I just said AWD is better, and if "skidding" is what you call performance driving, then my, you have ALOT to learn about driving itself. If you think that RWD is superior in any way, you should know there's no were NEAR as much control of your car in a RWD as in an AWD or FWD even. By the way, what did your comment have anything to do with my question? It's okay though, what much else can we expect from M3 drivers? I understand you wasted your money on your M3 and love how it may drive, but hey, that's no reason to get jealous now that there's a car out that can beat you in speed/handling/style.
