Huge Avs fan here, so.....
It's been awhile for us. I was at the 1996 Stanley Cup Playoffs and Finals against the Florida Panthers and also at the 2001 Playoffs and Finals. My wife was at game 7 against the Devils were Ray Bourque raised the Cup. This time around I'll be watching on TV from home. With that said, any team to repeat a championship in back to back years in a major league sport and show up again for third is no joke. I'm hoping for a competitive series! Go Avs! Why is the series spread out so much? It's going to take something like 3 weeks if it goes 7 games?

I am floored by how dominant the Av's are right thru the playoffs. Have not seem them play much but what a combo of speed and toughness. I am admittedly a very jealous Ranger fan.

That said, glad that the Avs are pounding the crap outta them, doing what the Rangers should've done. |

For sure I give them credit and what I said didn't take anything away, just that they had help to get out of R1. The Leafs outplayed them for the most part and Vasi looked very human. 'Game mgt' happens way too often in sports that I no longer consider them to be 100% pure striving for athletic excellence and more about entertainment/ulterior motives.

Nah, still don't get you, what 'backflip logic'? Things are not that simple but whatever floats your boat.

Excellent game for the Bolts.
They showed why they are back for a third consecutive time in the Stanley Cup finals. Honestly, I would have been more shocked if this didn't happen. I told my wife before the game that I can see the Lightning coming out swinging and playing as the series depended on it. With that said, I was disappointed at the goaltending by Darcy Kuemper. I thought he let in several "soft" goals which can change the momentum of a game quickly. I hoped for a competitive series as it began and believe that's what it's shaping into. Go Avs! |
