Buying E92 M3 help.

Hi, i viewed an e92 m3 today an need some second opinions/advice on the condition of the engine bay generally.

The car is a 2011(11 reg) coupe E92 M3 and has 65k mile, 2 owner from new. Generally the car exterior and interior are in great condition and no complaints, everything here seemed fine.

The engine bay however was very dirty and had a couple of issues,

First; Power steering reservior was very oily and looks like it has overflowed at some point or has an ongoing leak. Could this have been tracked hard?

Secondly; The valve cover has oil around the gasket. This is as im aware a common issue, but seems quite excessive compared to others i have viewed.

Its a trade dealer who has had the car for around 7 months. Anyone have any advice on this or should i give it a pass?

Any views would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Garage List
2012 BMW 335i  [5.25]
2012 BMW 335is  [5.00]
2008 Infiniti QX56  [0.00]
1967 Chevrolet Corv ...  [10.00]
2001 M Roadster  [10.00]
2022 BMW 540i  [0.75]
2009 528i  [9.50]
Although those issues would not bother me and I would budget for that maintenance, I would consider getting a PPI to cover the rest of the car. Then, if the oil pan gasket is also leaking, I would consider getting new rod bearings installed at the same time. I would not be scared of this car, but I would want to be able to establish a budget for deferred maintenance.

I'd be concerned about a dealer sitting on an M3 for 7 months and not selling it, and not even cleaning the engine compartment?!

That must be one sketchy dealer you're talking to.

Or a rare, honest dealer who isn't trying to hide the condition of the engine bay...?
