Hard water spots
I just picked up the car today from the dealer. I told em not to prep the car as I'm going to get ppf with my detailer. However, I came home, and left it out in the driveway for a few hours. I didn't realize I forgot to turn off the sprinklers, and now my car has a bunch of hard water spots. My detailer is supposed to detail the car before ppf. Anything I should tell em, or will polishing remove it all?

If it's a reputable shop, the prep work they do ahead of the PPF will take care of the water spots no problem.
You could mention it just in case but shouldn't be a concern at all.

CarPro Spotless will remove minerals from hard water. Basically spray on, dwell for a few seconds, and wipe off. Especially stubborn spots may take a little (very little) agitation with a dampened microfiber cloth.

I've used Sud Factory X2 Dissolve to remove water spots on my M4 and it worked like a charm (also does well on shower doors/chrome). Shipping was slow though and customer service is non-existent. Several ounces of the product leaked out of the bottle in shipping and the bottle was never sealed. I informed them and they never responded. Good product, piss poor service.
In any case, your detailer will have no problem removing the water spots with a product they keep in their stable or via standard paint correction. |

Honestly, I've seen good results just letting the car sit out in some good sunlight for a few hours. Really helps.

Hard water spots can etch your clear coat with the help of the sun.
