E90 Hot Rim Help
I have a 2007 328xi. Over the last few weeks I have noticed a rubbing sound from my drivers side rear, I figured the e-brake was dislodged, took it all apart and it looked fine, noise remained after messing with dust shield. I put a new rotor on and it sounded better rubbing wise, but I noticed the rim was pretty warm/hot after a 20 mile drive. E brake is not over tight, too loose if anything, other side is fine.
I had the passenger rear bearing done about 5,000 miles ago, but that was howling like a typical bearing. This is not noisy, I checked the caliper and it was not frozen and slides worked good and easily came off the rotor. No burning brake smell. Could a bad wheel bearing cause all the heat/friction and not be loud? Car has 146k on it Thanks Andrew |

I thought the same. Since the first post I took the caliper back apart and cleaned it up, knocked a bunch of rust off, I guess I'll have to see if that helps on my ride to work tomorrow
