MTech rear bumper
I was involved in a hit and run in my own driveway and upgraded to an MTech bumper. I picked it up this afternoon and installed it in the sweltering heat but I’m happy to have it back in order.

It has been pretty hot lately, you think the paint or mounting hardware will melt?

That is not a bumper, that is a bumper cover.

didn't know the full story! just thought you were being mean for no reason! either way there shouldn't be any hate on the forum! like bmw335ie90 said, just gotta roll with the punches. At the end of the day only you get to drive your build and work on it, forget what anyone else says, do what makes you happy.

Let's share the thread where @blackwood asked about repairing his cracked lip, this is why he trolled my thread. I thought the car deserved to be repaired correctly and he came back hard. I let it go when he posted here but it seemed to have turned personal. I will let others decide who handled it better.

"I thought the car deserved to be repaired correctly"
And you're still being a douche, implying that I didn't repair my own car correctly. |

Sorry, offtopic.
But this whole discussion about who said what and what they are entitled for or not; all comes down to what you think is good for your car. I noticed a very very shallow dent on the fender, and I mean really shallow I had to keep going back and forth from different angles under light to see them, yet I'm having them repaired. A big gash like the one blackwood have/had on his bumper/bumper cover would drive me nuts and I'll have to get the whole thing replaced, no amount of JB weld or any other solution would be good enough for me. But that's just me. It all comes down to how satisfactory the person is with whatever the solution is. tcphoto thinks the same way I do. I just can't understand how people are ok with it. That's all. When he commented on your thread about the bumper fix, he was just pointing out that the best fix is obviously replacing the whole thing, no amount of DIY body work will bring it back to 100%. This is an open public forum, people asking for opinions should expect all kind of opinions. If they don't like that, then don't ask and do your own research silently. On the mtech bumper/bumper cover. It looks very nice, I personally would have left the bottom part matte black and got the M3 replica mirror caps that also have the matte black part. just to get some contrast. It's a bit hard on our black cars to show the lines and the designs, but they look very nice when clean...for like 10 minutes after a wash |

It wasn't the initial comment that bothered me, it was the repeated comments. We are all here to learn new things about our cars whether it's technical, esthetic mods, DIY or other items but making repetitive argumentative posts is annoying. My car is far from perfect but I take pride in the work I've done on it, everyone has different standards but I'll be damned if I'm going to have my car towed so I put the work into it.

Yeah I would agree with you, it's all about what the owner of the car thinks.
Which is why it was extra annoying when after I completed the repair and I said I was happy with the result for MY car, TCPHOTO came ALL THE WAY BACK to the thread to say, "Let's wait a bit before declaring victory" Was that really necessary? Is that a valuable contribution to anyone? Is that the learning that "we are all here" for? I clearly said "I live around a bunch of speed humps, so I'm not set on keeping my lip pristine" because it will simply get damaged again. Nobody is asking for advice about making it 100% Did it provide any value to anyone for him to come and state the obvious that simply replacing the whole thing would be the best scenario? Is that not the most obvious thing anyone could ever say about car repair? Last edited by blackwood; 07-29-2022 at 01:54 PM.. |

There is plenty of ways to repair a crack in the bumper and have it look oem.
Yea, is better and easier, but I wouldn’t write off an m sport bumper because of a crack. Nothing wrong with epoxy on the rear of the bumper. Looks oem? No, but looking at the pics, it looks better than before. It is certainly better than the zip ties some mentioned in the thread. Matte black diffusers are nice and I’ve seen charcoal metallic ones that looked good too. |

I bought it from Mod Bargains, I ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived the next Friday in Nashville. I would have ordered it from ECSTuning since they're in Ohio but they are backordered. Hopefully, I'll do a MTech front bumper and side skirts in a few months.
