Interesting to see that the design of the outer intakes change with the performance parts.

I'm guessing it is the carbon pack. I saw a different angle of this car in another post and it also has the rear spoiler.

Yeah you can dimly see it through the windshield.

Honestly, I can see this car being very expensive compared to the F series counterpart. I suppose that's just what happens when you have more options, but man. What could you top a F87C at, like $65K? I would imagine a G87 may be pushing high $70s with enough options. That's serious money. I'm hoping I'm wrong. But then on the flip side, it's nice to be able to option a car out to however you want.

That's how I view it also. If you want to option it out, the sky is the limit. But if you want to keep it simple, I'm sure you can get a pretty decent spec for 68k or so. I'm also expecting build quality to be much better than the F87 based on how the G42 is, so that along with inflation will justify the uptick in price.

Yup, the louvre insert in the corner of the headlight is back. Still waiting for the front to leak so we can get a proper look at it and see if it's functional

Those two oddly angled middle slits (with all the other small vents) look like trash.
This is making the G42 look so much better and the old M2C a super model.

The camouflage is doing its job Those will black on the production model. M240i has the same thing in the middle which houses its driver aid systems.

I hope they give the option for a carbon spoiler lip instead of a the wing, not a huge fan of the look with the wing.

Agree, options is where BMW are going to get you. Carbon buckets alone will be another $6-$7k, since you have to option merino leather. Although for those that tend to option their vehicles lower, the fact the base seats are sensatec/alcantara...might be a sign BMW is trying to keep msrp down. It will be up to customer how expensive they want to make their G87.

How much do you think it will be with all the options checked?

It's not apples to apples. The F87 was only $65k loaded since they didn't offer the options that the G87 will have available. Maybe a better way to think about it would be to spec the G87 identical to a loaded F87 and then compare the price factoring in inflation. Any additional options like CF seats, CF roof etc. shouldn't be counted against the F87.

Only ever pay for options that you want - you will never get the additional expense back come trade in time.

Discuss.

Edit: So think Individual Paint. It's definitely something I would pay for if I liked the colour enough, but I wouldn't expect to get any extra for having same come trade in.

I am going to have to disagree with you on build quality. My F87 has been the most solid BMW I've ever owned.
