I have a 2006 330ci conv equipped with the Business CD radio - not Professional, no iDrive, and no Nav. My Business CD has RDS that works great (with FM radio stations that support it) and it plays mp3 CDs flawlessly. According to what I've read on other posts, these seem to be features offered only on the Professional radio previously.

But despite the added functionality to the Business model, I can't find a way to display ID3 tags when I play mp3 CDs. I've tried several CDs including mp3s with ID3v1, ID3v2 and both, but no artist or song title info displays, just directory and file numbers such as TR01-001, TR02-009, etc. The manual is useless, the panel buttons have no effect, and the hidden menus don't seem to have an option to turn the feature on.

Can anyone help? I just want to make sure I've covered all the possibilities, because it seems incredibly stupid to me that BMW would add RDS and mp3 functionality to their Business CD radio without supporting ID3 display capability.

Hopefully someone on here can help you, but if not - you might want to try finding an e46 forum. (This is a forum for the e90 which has a different stereo than your car.)

You have a E46 Convertible, its systems are totally differnt from the E90 Sedans or E92 Coupe.

E46 Coupe stops production this month and will be replaced by the new shape E92 coupe from September
and your E46 Convertble stops production around September and will be replaced by the E93 Convertible around December


I do not recall any E46 being able to show ID3 tags
