How close is BMW M "Zandvoort Blue" (C6E) to Porsche "Gulf Blue" (328) ?

The G87 M2 launch color "M Zandvoort Blue" ("M Zandvoort Blau") is a new BMW unicolor (solid color - BMW paint code C6E):

At first glance, the color reminds to some extent of "Space Race Metal", a metallic color that graced the BMW 2002 Hommage Concept (2016) (see here and here).

But, apart from solid color versus metallic color, Zandvoort Blue seems to feature more pastel blue hue than grey hue, compared to Space Race Metal:

But IMHO it would be even more interesting to compare side-by-side the subtle hue differences between "Zandvoort Blue" and "Gulf Blue" ("Gulfblau"), an iconic Porsche color (Porsche paint code 328): close call or 'faux amis' ?

Zandvoort Blue also seems to look lighter than the light blue color of the BMW M logo (note: the metallic F87 M2 CS color "Misano Blue Metallic" looks close to the Bavarian blue color of the BMW logo):

I definitely prefer the space race metal color on the 2002 Hommage.Great name too.BTW why didn’t they just update the Hommage design for the G42 and G87.It would have been so amazing. What a car.The only styling feature they used was to copy the kidney grille design for the G42.

I also agree that Porsche Gulf Blue looks fairly close to Zandvoort Blue. I think the leaked pictures are a lighter hue than Gulf or Zandvoort Blue. I am not convinced the leaked pictures are the true Zandvoort Blue color C6E.

It's hard to capture certain colors with a camera. Recurring topic in the M2 section: does the F87 M2 launch color "Long Beach Blue" feature teal/turquoise hues or not ? Always, sometimes or never ? Many substantiated their views with pictures under all sorts of lighting conditions, filters, etc. But still to date, no consensus. And as regards shades/gradients, it's also complicated to all agree on drawing the exact line where blue or green becomes 'teal': many persons, many views.

Take pictures of an LBB M2 and compare those straightaway with the car: you'll notice that often there's no accurate match. A camera cannot match the human eye.

IMHO there will be a consensus that Zandvoort Blue is a pastel blue.

Yes. Very VERY hard to judge colours by looking at photos on a screen, especially when the photos (or renderings) are taken at different times, in different lighting, with different cameras; all while potentially being edited or viewed on different devices and screens that render colours differently.

And I hope you're right. I want this Zandvoort to be more like a "Light Blue Chalk" and comparable to Porsche's Chalk/Crayon rather than looking darker like a Hyundai.

A Porsche colour, huh?

How about a humble 2005 Nissan Cube?

Anyway, I am sure the G87 will look awesome in person
