All 6 injectors bad ?
I opted to send my injectors to be cleaned and tested. The reported back all 6 injectors are bad. Internal leaks. Drawing too much power etc. They said the power draw issue could hurt the ECU. Before I took the car down for the CBU issue there was very little rough idle issues at start up but that was it. I want to read the computer with my foxwell but the car is in pieces. I hate to put bad injectors in, if they are bad. I also hate to spend 2k.on remans. My CEL was on for the EGR CBU issue I never checked it again recently. I did discuss the injectors at length with them prior to sending them in. They were well aware of the type the 335d uses etc

That's why it struck me as so odd if they were leaking internally would that throw a code |

I have a foxwell NT510 reader. Think it's possible to get a good reading with it tore down for CbU cleaning. Valve cover is off and everything above that lol. Love to see if I have any injector codes if the ECU don't go haywire

this was my report I got. i have no idea what its telling me though. this was his reply:
Sorry for the delay we retested these a second time late Friday afternoon. We bought in an expert to assist. What we found was that the piezo crystal stacks inside the injectors were requiring too much voltage for the test bench (Bosch EPS205) to operate. This is a sign of wear to the injectors that their life spans are near an end. This also prevents the test bench from proceeding with the testing as Bosch deems this a failure. We with the assistance of our expert we were able to override the piezo stack test to get injector testing results. The injectors are all within performance specifications after the power override. This explains the failure on the test stand, but running in the engine. The injectors are delivering the fuel to specification, but the piezo crystals are near the end of their lives. Per Bosch they should be replaced as we cannot predict when the piezo stacks will reach a point of complete failure. The stacks cannot be replaced as they are built into the body of the injector, and replacement injectors would need to be replaced. The function of the piezo stack expands and contracts, controlling injection events, based on reversing the current to the injector. Eventually elasticity is lost and more current is required to make them function as designed. This is where are at currently. I hope this bring clarity. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I can be of any additional assistance Last edited by DirtyDieselDog; 10-03-2022 at 05:05 PM.. |

Yeah, I'd run those things and not listen to any of that to be honest. I have a feeling they don't know how to test these things.

So in my debate what to do, I contacted S&S who asked me a question then ghosted me and I emailed TuneMyEuro. This was the response from Them:
We don't recommend sending the injectors out to be cleaned, if anything we just run hot shots edt diesel treatment on them. Every customer that has sent out their injectors to be cleaned has had the same outcome and got a report saying all six injectors are bad now. I wish you would have asked before sending them out. To which I asked if they were worth trying and I got this reply: It depends, we don't know how the company that you sent them clean them. Its not good to have any liquids to get close to the electric part of the injectors, also not good to physically touch the tips of the injectors. So, even if they were cleaned correctly, bad handling could be a factor on damaging them Well today I received them back and I am very pissed. See the pictures. They were all 6 thrown in a box. 1 return line broke. The tips and returns just bouncing off the box end. Gouges and holes all over the box. I carefully wrapped and padded the box to be sure they were not damaged. Learn from mistake.... And definitely don't use The Diesel Store to clean your injectors. I feel like they are trying to make sure I have to buy new ones. https://thedieselstore.com/injector-testing-services I also think I'll be posting on their facebook Last edited by DirtyDieselDog; 10-08-2022 at 03:30 PM.. |

got a reply. I am pleasantly surprised they did this. I honestly thought It would turn into a fight...
"Thank you for bringing this to my attention. First I want to apologize, you are absolutely correct that this is unacceptable. I have addressed this with my team to ensure this does not happen again. There was process breakdown in packaging that cannot be missed, and I am sorry to say that it was. I understand having questions, if I opened that box I would have questions and be extremely disappointed at the very least. We will make this right for you. We are going to refund your testing fee and send you a replacement for the one that is damaged. We will also include a return label for the core. Again I would like to apologize, please let me know if I can be of any additional assistance." |

Getting ready to code my injectors. Which number off this do I need?
Also cylinder 1 is by the radiator? Then sequential to #6 which is nearest the firewall. Is that correct? I'll be using a foxwell nt510 |

The old injectors have letters and numbers in a 7 digit code followed by 1 number, 3 numbers, 3 numbers, 2 numbers.
The new onea only have the 7 digits mix. When I say mix, 1 number 6 letters. I'll pay pictures tomorrow. All on top. Last edited by DirtyDieselDog; 10-19-2022 at 06:38 AM.. |

I just got all the codes off the top. Some have no numbers some have 2 most have 1. I thought it was 2 sets of 3 numbers that told the computer how the crystals react to power or something??

It's the 7 digit code. Who cares how many numbers it's composed of? Stop overthinking this bud lol
ECU is expecting X, all the code does is tell the ECU that the injector will be producing Y and to compensate for it. That's it'. No magic crystals.
