Pics of my amp installed
Howzit guys, Merry Xmas to all and I hope you guys enjoy the holidays, just wanna share some pics of my amp installed in the boot. I'm still busy with the sub enclosure, but will show it off once done.

Hey Menno, nicely done man. One thing though, the hot air from the heatsink will rise up into the amp and could cause overheating. It may not be a problem if the amp does not run too hot though.
Nice job there man - very neat. |

Hi Mike, thanks for the comments. because I wanted to keep it stealth I had 2 options with the positioning, so it was either in the current position, or in the well under the floor. Have you sorted your heating problems on your amp?
I'm currently busy building the enclosure for sub over the wheel arch. Front is easy, but I'll have to fibre glass the back for max space. |

hey Menno, my amps still run very hot, but I am living with it. I just need to keep the volume a notch below where I want it. At least the audisons have built in fans that blow air over the heatsink - that helps a bit. I do about an hour each way to work and back and the amps last that long without overheating so it's cool.
I'm playing with the idea of a RF360, but I don't think I can justify the cost - especialy now with things as tight as they are. And the wife would prolly cut my balls off if I even mentioned spending more on my car.... PS: off topic but how do you get the SA flag in your profile there on the left? |

Yeah, the prices of all American stuff has shot through the roof with the new exchange rate! the 360 will make the worlds difference if I have a listen to the sound in a friend's porsche. Porsche comes out standard with the Bosch system that is pretty decent, but he changed it all out for RF stuff, but wanted to keep the wiring and HU standard for guarantee. He runs it all through the 360.4 and it sounds AWESOME!
The SA flag comes standard when you select South Africa in your profile as Country. Just check that SA is selected! |

I used a line out converter (LOC). I tapped into the signal to the rear 4" speakers and the LOC converts it to normal RCA plugs that fit in the input signal of the amp.

Hi Mommet, you'll have to give me time to the weekend to take the pics. Mike, dont you have pics of this too, you used the LOC too (SVEN2) if I remember correctly.
I tapped in right at the speakers with normal pin connectors crimps, then fed the wires under the parcel shelf into the boot space where I placed the LOC. RCA's then run to the amp. |
