Ipod "current view" dissapears?

I don't know if it's a bug or a "feature", but the current view seems to dissapear after turning the car off/on again

fe: I leave all the search fields open, press search .. entire library shows up and I am able to scroll through it.
If I then turn the car off and on again it will only show the current song (I can go back and forward to other songs via the buttons on the steering wheel, but I can't scroll anymore with the idrive wheel).
Is this supposed to happen?

relevant specs of the car for this issue: E91 LCI with navi pro, 6NF, 6FL. Ipod is connected via the Y-cable

I have similar problems with a USB flash drive. So, yeah, I'd say this is a software issue.

Is this a 2009 or a 2008?

Sorry! You have LCI on your profile. Should have know that.

In any case, I have the exact same issue in my 2009.

I get the same thing on mine (2009 335i e90 navi,) but noticed it can refresh and repopulate the fields by just using i-drive to back up one menu. It does remember the song that was playing. There could be differences based on the type of ipod or ipod software version as well I guess.
