2010 E90 316d Limp mode?
I have a 316d. The engine is the 2 litre N47 but is detuned compared to the 320d
I've owned it 10 years and it has 137,000 miles. Lately, the limp mode light is appearing on the dash. If I travel on the motorway at constant speeds around 70 to 80mph the light rarely appears. If I'm stuck in traffic and using the throttle on/off the light can appear in 300 yards. Turning everything off and leaving the car 5 minutes seems to reset everything. The car will easily travel at 80mph on the motorway with the light on. The handbook isn't helpful, just saying that light denotes reduced power. Like an engine management light diagonally half-filled with yellow. I'm suspicious of the accelerator pedal module, as the light appears with more use of that. No codes are shown on my Foxwell NT650. I recently had an injector leak-off test done and the garage said one injector was worse than the others, so I changed it for a secondhand one. I haven't coded that "new" injector to the car. Everything is standard and I haven't changed anything apart from the injector. Any thoughts welcome, please. |
