G87 M2 in Toronto Red

Hi,

I took a look at the new M2 in the BMW Welt and created a short video with the GoPro.

I like the new M2. I think before someone make a final judgment based on videos or pictures, you should have seen it live.

Simple lines and shape with a bold impact. The design approach makes a lot more sense here compared to pictures and the press videos. It's almost as if it's waiting for the jewelry of subtle mods to be added.

Looks like space around the vehicle was quite limited. Do you have any pics or video with regular zoom without the fisheye effect?

yes the space was limited and the GoPro has a little Fisheye effect.

I have some pictures (Iphone 12, with different lences made. The pictures with wide angle may have also a little fisheye effect.)

It's like BMW has never heard of tire dressing. In all the reveal videos and here on the stand, the tires sidewalls are dry which really lets down the nice profile this car has.

OP, your pictures are better at showing the cars details than most of the press release ones.

I'm far from a red car guy myself but these pictures has me doing some serious reconsideration. I think Toronto shows off the body contouring the best out of the 5 colors but would love to see some good pics of it in Brooklyn Grey

Right now I'm between red and BSM. I swore off black cars years ago, but dang, she's menacing in black. I like that look. Plus, in the era of PPF and ceramic, owning black cars probably isn't that troublesome anymore.

Despite all the criticism I think the car has a lot going for it. Some criticism is definitely valid but overblown.

There were many criticizing the rocker panel extending up into the rear quarter. But if you look at these two pics you can see that they were able to make a rectangular shape that starts from the front fender all the way back keeping with the boxy theme, yet they were still able to incorporate a 45 degree line on either end giving you the sense of motion.

So with the larger lower rocker panel design does that mean that chips from rocks flying off of the front wheels won’t be an issue on this car like the F87?I don’t see the clear protective film on the back fender that the F87 has.

Interesting that in the video the car looks so orange. More than my sunset orange F87. But then the photos look like a more traditional red.

Car looks great. Design looks better the more I see it.

Man I just wish the wheels weren't gloss black. Wheels are hard enough to keep clean, let alone when they are painted in the literal worst color to keep looking nice.

Don’t expect Toronto Red to look like these pics.It is definitely an orangey red.It hasn’t been very popular but i like it.I have only seen the color once at my dealer and it was an X3M.

Yeah, they should have been in a satin finish. On the bright side it doesn't take long for the wheel dust to go from gloss to semi-gloss to satin to eggshell to matte to go wash your car you scumbag.
