BMW Dealership, error codes, and Juicebox 3

I recently ran my car up on a curb and bent 2 aftermarket rims. I replaced the custom set with the ones I originally had on the car. Unfortunately, I have been getting a DSC error and cruise control is not working.

*edit* did not find any error codes with an OBDII reader, will update more later

Any advice about this situation would be greatly appreciated from a fellow enthusiast!

I would be willing to bet that there's a local forum user who has a C-Reader that will clear the codes, that you could borrow for a minute...

Take the JB out and go to advance auto,pep boys,etc. and they will read and clear your codes for free.My friend was in the position as you,and thats what he did.Everything worked out fine.

Even clearing with with an OBDII tool will not clear them completely. They just are no longer visible to the OBDII interface but the dealer tools can still see them. But considering the codes are not active, they may not even notice them.

This may sound stupid but make sure you put the correct wheels on, they are directional. This would def trigger dsc

NEGATIVE HOUSTON!!!! Maybe with just a little reader or a cheap little basic obdII tool but I have a real one that cost like 300$ I drive lifted trucks with tunes that I clear codes with once a month (tuning a diesel is always Fun).. I had a fuel injector go out on my diesel truck while I was pulling my horse trailer up a grade and with it being chipped it threw a overboost code for some reason.. I went home cleared out all the codes removed the tune and took it straight to teh dealer!! AS I was driving to the dealer the check engine light came back on so i pulled over plugged in my tool and the original fuel injector code came back and that was it!!
I pulled up to the service bay and asked why my check engine light came on today and they came out with an OBDII tool right there and the tech looks at me goes Oh shit man a fuel injector went out.. Im like Oh really anything else wrong?? and hes goes NO thats the only code I can have it fixed in an hour!!

So Maybe with a chepo reader ya I could see the codes still lingering but with my tool its the SAME THING the dealer uses!!

You are not discussing the current BMW with the Siemens MSD80 ort 81. Clearing OBDII codes on this vehicle does not necessarily clear them from the extended memory; there are still remnants.

This is the same reason why some people can get a Limp Mode without having an OBDII code present, but there is something in the extended memory which a GT1 or similar could read.

What the hell does clearning codes on a simple truck have to do with clearning/reading from a complicated BMW ECU?

IF the dealer takes the time to look at your car closely he will know it's had altered software, More and more dealers are paying attention to the turbo cars, eating warranty jobs for turner software is not something BMW has built into the cost of the car.
