actuator troubleshooting
Is there a thread documenting how to troubleshoot (and maybe fix) the turbo actuator. I remember seeing one somewhere but I can't find it now.
And just in case . . . Symptoms: Loads of black smoke. Loads of diesel soot on the rear. Poor performance. Limp mode indicator but not in limp mode. What I've tried so far. Cleaned ATM air filter. Verified they actuator is not activating when revving the motor. I suppose, if I've interpreted the symptoms correctly, so far, this is a vacuum problem: vacuum line or vacuum controller, right?

Scan for codes and go from there, you'll get 90% of the problem figured out with a scan. The actuator pulls back on start-up, but I don't believe it moves when revving in P, which is how I assume you observed it...no real load on engine under those conditions (or the logic prevents it until in drive?), someone more knowledgeable on here might be able to confirm that. Check vacuum lines, pressure converter issues should reveal themselves with a scan, verify actuator rod nut is at least 16 threads from bottom of rod. Never heard of a Solo Motorsports tune, how confident are you with their work, have they done multiple M57's? Good luck, hope you figure it out...
